Thankful

This week has been a blur. One good news is that I am now a B- chemistry student. For my class, I have 3 tests and a final, but the lowest score of the 3 gets dropped. My first test was a 76 and my second was a 68, but my professor made some mistakes on the second exam, so my 68 went up to an 80! As of now, my 76 will be dropped and my test average is a B-! But...I am definitely not feeling confident about the 3rd test, which is in 2 weeks.

Other good news is that my father has finally given me persmission to sleep over at friends' dorms when I visit them at their colleges. This sleeping-over issue has been haunting me for years and especially earlier this year between me and my parents...but I guess my father is slowly opening up to the idea. Thank goodness!

And tomorrow is going to be interesting since it's the Maroon 5 concert at my school. I'm a little excited, but the news of my father's approval for my sleeping over at friends' dorms is overriding that excitement greatly haha!

Also, I've been listening non-stop to Broadway soundtracks. Right now I'm really hooked to the Spring Awakening soundtrack. I regret not watching it on Broadway before it got cut earlier this year. I'm also sad I can't watch Hairspray! But I'm definitely going to make time and save up money to watch Wicked and Phantom of the Opera in the future.

And I'm really happy that although I haven't been leisurely reading as quickly and as abundantly as I would have liked, I've been reading some good books lately and I'll be breaking my own record when it comes to my book log, so that's definitely good.

I'll try to visit Xanga more frequently. Lately I've been more into Tumblr when it comes to blogs and Blogspot for my poetry, but Xanga will never be dead to me.

A Tad Sad

So this week was hectic but fun:

On Sunday I hung out with Grace Moon for the first time in forever until I had to go out to the city to get some hearts from Build-A-Bear for my yarndolls, did some shopping that I shouldn't have done, and had dinner with  Patrick, Jade, Lin, Phil, and Kitty at Ah Rhee Soo.

Monday, I went to InSpa/Spa Castle with Lin and Kitty, and Patrick and Jade came afterwards. Kitty and I left in time to go to Angel's dinner at a Japanese restaurant called Amber in the city. So many people were there and I got sad that it might be the last time hanging out with them.. But I'm glad I got to share the Dragon's Bride with Wendy and left dinner early with Mi-chan and Jake to ride the subway so I could go hang out with Lauren, Yat, Grace Kim, Lisa, Peony, Cameron, Michelle Chen, and Susan for dessert. The fried cheesecake at Sushi Island was super!
I gave my usual crew their souvenirs from Korea (everyone got a shirt that they all seemed to like) and the yarndolls that I stayed up the night before to make. I was sad that I only got to spend dessert-time with them but I wasn't too sad because I knew we would meet up again when they came back from college.
Oh! And I finally got to experience Cameron's driving because he drove me and some others home after dessert. He's a good driver and I loved the sound system he put into his car.

And Tuesday was beach day at Rockaway with Janet, Lin, Kitty, Andy, Phil, Jenny, Jade, and Patrick. We stayed where Miles was lifeguarding and Miles hung out with us during his extended break. The sand and water there was surprisingly nice and I enjoyed our time there.
The car ride back to Flushing was fun because we were stuck in traffic and we were cam-whoring and playing Who Wants To Be A Millionaire on Andy's i-Touch.

Wednesday was a stay-at-home day except for my first day back to tutoring Matthew.

Thursday was super tiring because I went to Queens Center Mall in the morning, got my brother his War Craft game from BestBuy, got my Converse and Keds, and bought some things on sale from PacSun, headed back to Flushing, and met up with my mom to go to my parents' store. I worked until closing time. It was a long day.

And Friday (just today!) was a bumming out day. I finally got photos printed to send to Korea. I just have to write the letters thanking relatives now...
Dinner with mom was cool and we went to BJ's and she bought me "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies", which I plan to read sometime after I read a bunch of other books I borrowed from the library.
And almost everyone has moved into college already! Or started classes!
I sort of can't wait to start classes too.
And I definitely can't wait until Thanksgiving Break and Homecoming when everyone comes back.

But today and Sunday will definitely be interesting.

Today's plan is to have a BBQ at Kevin Jeong's house and bake cake with Grace Moon.

Sunday (after church) is to have a "ghetto pool date with Lisa and Michelle Chen (aka Leesah<4 and Dinosaur) before Dinosaur leaves to go to Rhode Island.

Monday will definitely be a bumming at home kind of day.

Tuesday is the New Student Convocation day.

And Wednesday is the first day of classes.

College is going to be so different without seeing familiar faces.
I miss a lot of my friends a lot already.
A part of me wishes I didn't go to Korea in the summer so I could have spent a lot of time with them before we got separated. But Korea was a great experience too and I wouldn't exchange it for anything.

Anyone still alive on Xanga and who has read this big entry...thank you! Haha~
